What's my capacity at Foundation Christian Church
At Foundation Christian Church, we believe that God has equipped each one of us to bring Him glory and to edify of the Church. We are confident that God has given you a unique purpose for His kingdom. As a church plant, we are prayerfully seeking a team that is passionate about this community. Your potential role is influenced by a combination of your commitment, availability, giftings, and sacrifice. To help you determine your role within Foundation Christian Church, we’ve created seven differing roles that you can join us in.

Staff / Volunteer Staff
An individual who believes they called by God to serve this population on a vocational or bi-vocational basis. Whether paid or unpaid, they give at least 15 hours per week serving the congregation according to their giftings and the needs of the church.

Launch Team Member
Launch team core members commit themselves to Foundation Christian Church for at least one year. Core members make the development and growth of Foundation Christian Church a high priority in their life. Core members intentionally make themselves available for ministry and model living sacrificially. Launch team core members pray continually for the church, faithfully attend meetings and gatherings, volunteer regularly (at least twice per month in weekly services), invest spiritually in the lives of at least one other person, and give a percentage gift to Foundation Christian Church on a regular basis. Core members view Foundation Christian Church as their home church. Core members view FCC events as opportunities to live on mission and serve. Launch team members demonstrate a posture of service and seek to serve first, and to be served by the church second.

Launch Team Role Player
Launch team role players commitment themselves to Foundation Christian Church for at least a year. Role players are committed to the development and growth of Foundation Christian Church but are unable to commit to serving at a large capacity. Despite not being able to serve in a high-capacity role, role players serve within the church 1-2 per month in an established position. Role players regularly pray for the church, attend meetings and gatherings, and give regularly according to their abilities. Role players intend to make Foundation Christian Church their home and operate as such.

Launch Team Supporter
Launch Team Supporters commit themselves to helping Launch Team Members, especially volunteer team leaders, throughout the calendar year of 2023. Launch Team Supporters role is to ease the load of the launch team members by serving 1-2 times per month in a regular role. Launch Team Supporters may have another home church, but feel led to serve Foundation Christian Church for a period of time. Launch Team supporters are asked to consider making regular donations, but they are not required and should not be at the expense of giving to their home church communities should they have them. Launch Team Supporters will receive all the email, phone, and text communication of the Launch Team Members so they are in the know, and are expected to reply in a timely fashion to assist Launch Team Members and volunteer team leaders informed of how they can serve.

Friend of Foundation
We believe friends are there when you need them. Friends of Foundation Christian Church make contributions to our church plant through two ways:

1. Volunteering based on availability and need. When our regular volunteer teams cannot staff the area of need, Friends of Foundation Christian Church will receive communication asking for their help. This will often be 1-3 days before the opportunity, so it will be limited to last-minute availability.
2. Occasional or one-time financial gifts. Friends of Foundation Christian Church will receive communication about one-time or infrequent financial needs, such as donating to campaigns to help us fund our staff or purchase equipment related to audio visual needs, trailers, signage, and any other start up related cost. Friends of Foundation Christian Church are not expected to give, but offer themselves to be asked to contribute.

Friends of Foundation Christian Church will receive mass communication, such as emails and occasional individual messages related to volunteering as described above. Friends are invited, but not expected to regularly attend gatherings.

Campus Ministry Leader
Foundation Christian Church believes that campus ministries and parachurches hold an important role in the body of Christ. We respect, admire, and desire to promote the development and health of campus ministries at Oakland University. Campus ministries provide opportunities for students to grow in relationship with Him, live in fellowship, and use their giftings for His glory. Individuals serving within campus ministries are encouraged to prioritize serving the Lord in their respected ministries throughout their collegiate career. Campus ministry leaders are integral part of ministry at Oakland University and Foundation Christian Church is honored to work alongside them. We invite campus ministry leaders to be active members of our community and become a part of a church they can call home for years to come.

Prayer Team Supporter
We know that every fruit-bearing, Christ-centered endeavor has its foundation in prayer. While not part of the everyday life of our church, prayer team supporters commit to receiving regular prayer request updates to join a greater community of people lifting up Foundation Christian Church and its efforts in prayer. Prayer requests include celebration and praise for God’s work, the movement of the work at Oakland University, and personal requests from staff, leaders, and members of Foundation Christian Church.
